Selective synthesis of Fe3O4AuxAgy nanomaterials and their potential applications in catalysis and nanomedicine
In these recent years, magnetite (Fe3O4) has witnessed a growing interest in the scientific community as a potential material in various fields of application namely in catalysis, biosensing, hyperthermia treatments, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) contrast agents and drug delivery. Their unique properties such as metal-insulator phase transitions, superconductivity, low Curie temperature, and...
متن کاملSynthesis of high surface area nanomaterials and their application in catalysis
Copper oxide supported on ceria has been investigated for the selective hydrogenation of octadecanoic acid to octadecanol. At reaction conditions of 5 bar H2 at 250 C, 75 % alcohol yield with 100 % selectivity can be achieved. The Cu species formed under the experimental conditions and ceria support likely show synergy for the selective hydrogenation of acids into alcohols.
متن کاملShape-selective synthesis of Sn(MoO4)2 nanomaterials for catalysis and supercapacitor applications.
Size and shape-selective Sn(MoO4)2 nanomaterials have been synthesized for the first time using a simple hydrothermal route by the reaction of Sn(ii) chloride salt with sodium molybdate in CTAB micellar media under stirring at 60 °C temperature for about three hours. Needle-like and flake-like Sn(MoO4)2 nanomaterials were synthesized by optimizing the CTAB to metal salt molar ratio and by contr...

Zhang, University of Notre Dame A detailed understanding of molecular interactions at the interface of twodimensional GaAs systems under ultra-high vacuum (UHV) conditions has been achieved over the decades. While research on the understanding of such interactions wit...
متن کاملApplication of chemical engineering principles in development of nanomaterials (review)
Nanotechnology can be applied as a common-purpose technology, as it has important impacts on almost all industries and all areas of science. In those early days, scientists and engineers have confirmed their study on the development of nanomaterials and their applications in various fields. Nanoparticles have a wide range of applications, since it incorporate knowledge from the fields of Physic...
